Tuition Payment Plans
Low tuition and high caliber instruction are the basis of the Ryokan College Mission Statement while educational expense at other institutions continues to climb to astronomical heights.
RYOKAN COLLEGE offers extended payment plans to alleviate burdensome tuition costs. Amid the tuitions of other colleges reaching astronomical student loans and payments, Ryokan College tuitions reflect manageable levels of economic investment. Please refer to the catalog (Table of Contents on page 6) to see the complete schedule and options of the different programs.
Ryokan Regular Installment Payment Plans
Ryokan offers a monthly installment plan that lasts over the scheduled program with no interest charge. About half of our students use this plan because there is no extra cost, and tuition is fully paid by graduation.
Ryokan Extended Payment Plans
This plan works much the same as the Ryokan regular installment plan except for two major differences: payments are extended beyond the graduation date and an interest fee is charged. In this plan, Ryokan College contracts with an outside firm to track student payments. The benefit to the student lies in lowering the monthly payments (30-50%) below levels of the regular installment plan. Non-payment affects the student's credit rating and incurs a collection agency's services. The contract is generated by Ryokan College.
The College does not have any agreement with any lending institution that warrants specific preference. Many students who take student loans apply for enough money to cover books ($1,000-2,000/year) and various expenses above tuition.
Student Loans are available from Privately Financed Institutions. Student Loans are listed in the catalog (see Table of Contents page 6) and are based on FICO scores, amount of loan and length of payment plans. Student loans are available for most applicants.
You must be a U.S. citizen or a permanent resident and be credit worthy. They do have a $6,000.00 cap over tuition
Additional Estimated Expenses:
Books will cost $1-2,000 per year. For graduate programs, if you have not had 52 hours of personal therapy in the previous 3 years, you will need to have that amount by the time you graduate. For the exact tuition fee, CLICK HERE

I chose Ryokan because it was convenient, flexible and affordable. I still work, have a family, take care of my aged mom, own a home, etc. The online classes work best for my busy lifestyle. Without their flexibility, I would not pursue this.
I had attended two California State Universities and received a Master’s Degree from each before attending Ryokan College to acquire my doctorate in Clinical psychology. My second Master’s Degree was from California State University at Dominguez Hills—the program was completely online and there was virtually no difference in the quality of education I received from an accredited California state university and Ryokan college.
My experience at Ryokan from the initial interview through graduation was one of encouragement, motivation and compassion. I have referred others to Ryokan without hesitation knowing first hand that the school is always a part of my mind and I will always be grateful to Ryokan for giving me that chance.
